The Fluctus & new Steady Blue ground station bundle.
Brief description and features.
The Fluctus flight computer is an extremely versatile and feature packed device for your rocketry needs. Coupled with the new Steady Blue ground station that supports both USB and Bluetooth connectivity it creates an amazing package that compliments and advances any flying.
There is an Android App for arming, viewing data and tracking your rocket. And a PC/Laptop application for configuring, firmware updates as well as viewing data and downloading and using the Black Box data.
Important: The Fluctus might transmit on the 915Mhz frequency range by default. The latest 1.5 version Control centre software for your PC/Laptop can upgrade you to version 1.5 (if your hardware does not already have this) which supports 868MHz the licence free band in the UK.
You may already have this support with your Fluctus but please check before using within the UK/EU.

Accessories that you may need.
You will need a battery for your Fluctus, the Steady Blue has a inbuilt rechargeable one.
Ideally we suggest a 1S or 2S LiPo battery, we stock plenty of options here.
This Male JST cable will connect to your Fluctus terminal block and let you plug batteries in and off as needed - JST PH 2-Pin Cable - Male connector.
The Fluctus draws around 400mW of power (0.4w) so your rough current draw from 1S lipo would be 0.11A or 110mA, and from a 2S lipo 55mA. Therefore to operate for an hour you would want to aim for batteries slightly over this in their mAh capacity. If you want to save weight and a shorter run you can scale down and a longer recovery window scale upwards of course.

Klima Igniters or our e-Matches are great options for the Pyro channels if needed. You could also use actuators with these channels rather than igniters and pyro charges.
6 pack of Klima igniters.
25 pack of Klima igniters.
5 pack of e-matches.

Detailed Features.
Example phone tracking through semi-urban area with low(25mW) power.
Radio communication
The system uses a radio transceiver in the 915Mhz or 868Mhz frequency range. This allows you to receive telemetry data from your rocket while in range. As well as remote control, configuration and tracking your rocket for recovery. You will need to use the Android phone app and Bluetooth for live data and tracking in the field, or the PC software. You can configure your Input and outputs and rules using the PC software.
You can edit the radios transmition power from 25mW (Low) through to 160mW (High).
High-rate Black Box
The system logs loads of data with a dedicated and convenient flight analysis software. The system can record 15 minutes of flight data.
On-board GPS
Measuring the position anywhere on Earth and transmitting it back to the receiver.
On-board sensors
There is a +/- 200G Accelerometer for accurate speed measurement. A filtered Barometer which is capable of up to 20km (65kft) altitude and a Gyro-meter for tilt measurement and safer staging preventing firing when the rocket is off course.
Compact and lightweight
The Fluctus is only 25mm wide and weighs just 23 grams. It's easy to mount with four mounting holes. Battery reverse polarity protection is included along with LED's a buzzer and on-board screen for information.
Lots of Input and Output channels
The Fluctus has 3 high-current pyrotechnic outputs with continuity detection. As well as this it's packed with 4 auxiliary outputs with servo driving capability and RunCam™ remote-control feature. You can also connect two additional analog sensors should you require.
Smart flight sequencer
- Optional automatic arming on power up
- Fast but safe launch detection
- Multiple burnouts & air-starts detection
- Mach-tolerant and multi-sensor apogee detection with no altitude constraints
Extremely versatile flight event programming
Conditional chain of rules allow you to configure complex flight mechanics for your advanced rockets.
Low power consumption
Saves weight on battery needs using only 0.4W of power.
Reliable Firmware
Rigorously tested and constantly updated.
Real-time telemetry
Allows you to easily monitor altitude, speed, acceleration, GPS position, status and much more over long distances.
Remote arming & controls
You can trigger ground tests, in-flight events and allow you to safely arm the device once you're ready to launch.
Voice synthesizer
Will speak telemetry data so you can look at your rocket instead of the screen.
GPS locator
Both the PC and the Android app have location ability. The Mobile app shows you the rockets position and your own position on the screen for simple and easy rocket location and recovery.
Easy Black Box download
The Black Box contains all your flight data. You can download this in the PC software using the supplied USB cable after flight.
Flight summary
Automatically generated from the log file and shows your key flight data.
Data plotting
All of the values that Fluctus has recorded in it's black box can be plotted.
3D trajectography
Using GPS data you can visualize your rockets trajectory on a globe map.
Configuration view
As it flew, to simply deal with potential faults.
Data export
You can export data to a .csv file for more detailed analysis in a spreadsheet software.
Useful analysis tools
You can also see Flight flags, Hotspots detection, engine thrust impulse measurement and Aerodynamic properties measurements.
