This kit contains a range of parts that you can use to produce a rocket for the UKROC 2025 competition.
To find out more about the competition, the aim and to register you can visit the UKROC website here.
You may still need the odd other bit, tools and consumables for your build, and this does not include a egg holder / protector which you will still need to produce or buy. We also sell protectors in our store.
This kit lets you build for either 3x 18mm motors to run Klima D9 motors, or 1x 29mm motor to run on the TSP F35 motors.

What motors should you choose?
We've attached the approved motor list PDF to this page for you to browse. While all rocket builds will vary as a general rule of thumb you would be looking for around 60 Ns of total impulse for your rocket.
This means you could use 3x Klima D9 motors in our 3x 18mm motor mount, or you could use 3x Estes D12 motors although these are larger than the Klima's so you may find it hard to fit them in for this years project.
TSP rocket motors are included on the approved list this year which means you can run on a single TSP F35 motor, which means no reliability worries using a cluster. We also sell bulk packs of the D9 motors, using 3 motors a time you will get 10 launches from a bulk pack.
The choice of course is up to you! You can check out all the motor options we think are good options in our UKROC motors section.
What launch pad should we use?
The best choice would be to use a 6mm slot rail launch pad. We have one in development that we will list soon and update this section once it's ready. These can be quite expensive though compared to a rod launch system. So for practice if your rocket can cope with it we suggest a 6mm rod launch pad.
Here are some good options and ideas.
- 6mm x 2000mm launch rod
- Klima launch pad & launch controller bundle (can take a 6mm rod)
- Estes pro series II launch pad (5ft launch rod)
- Estes PSII Launch controller
- 11 meter launch controller extension lead
How do we launch motor clusters?
The best way is to use tape match and lightning sticks from Klima. There is a guide included on the packs to show you how to set everything up.
It offers a reliable way to set off all 3 of your motors at the same time from a single igniter.
Can we swap the parachutes for a different colour?
Yes! If we have stock you can choose from Neon Pink, Neon Orange or the standard Neon Green. Should you want a different parachute from our website rather than just the colour then you would need to order this separately I'm afraid.
Once you've checked stock, just add your requested colour change to the order notes on checkout.
You can check the stock of 18" and 24" Top Flight parachutes here, but please note you can only swap to a "STANDARD" parachute with this kit.
What is the black ring with an eye bolt for?
This is a 3D printed shock cord mount. You can glue it into your lower BT-70 tube to attach your shock cord. We suggest using epoxy for this rather than the PVA glue.
It's produced from Carbon fiber reinforced Nylon and can cope with pretty high temperatures and strength. If you want to strengthen it further then add a piece of coupler tube above the anchor point.
Why have you not included a coupler for the two pieces of BT-70 tube?
We don't expect your rocket would need to be that large! We've included one piece of BT-70 with 3 slots pre-cut which is quite handy if you're going with a 3-fin design. The other tube is for designs that don't suit the pre-cut 3-slot tube.
If you do want a BT-70 or BT-80 coupler then we do stock these, just pop along with this link to grab one.
What else might we need?
- An altimeter, The Estes and Jolly logic altimeters are great choices and approved by UKROC.
- A launch pad and launch controller for testing your rocket.
- Rocket motors as detailed above for your test launches and launches on the day. If you're clustering don't forget you may want to grab Tape match and Lightning sticks too.
- An egg protector. We've not included this as many teams make their own, but we do also offer some options for sale.
- You may want to put together a field box of handy tools, spares (igniters / rail buttons / some glue / couplers / A bit of body tube / A spare nose cone / etc)
- Eggs.... (hopefully not too many!)

All items on our website shown as in stock, are in our warehouse ready to ship unless stated otherwise on the product page.
We aim to ship orders within 1 working day of ordering on your chosen shipping method.
We do not guarantee this however, especially at extremely busy times of the year. Therefore if you do require your order urgently, please drop us a email after you order to let us know.
Please note that you must use a courier option if your order contains rocket motors, you can not use the Royal Mail for orders with motors. The website should automatically disable the Royal Mail shipping option once these items are added to your cart. However in the case of a website mistake you will need to use the courier option.
Orders will ship on your chosen courier, all UK Mainland couriers we offer are a next day service. The couriers however do not offer us a guarantee on this, so we are unable to pass one along.
Over 95% of our orders do arrive next day as intended.
If you require Saturday delivery there is a Saturday delivery option on the checkout page. DHL do not offer Saturday delivery by default.
You can use the Royal Mail option for smaller items up to 2Kg in weight as long as they do not contain motors.
Please be aware if you require AM or Saturday delivery these orders may still take up to 1 working day to dispatch. We do, however, prioritise express orders for dispatch.
If an item was sent un-tracked the delivery date is agreed to be 2 (two) days after shipment.
Returned items should be undamaged and in a good condition suitable to be sold again. They need to arrive with us in this condition.
You must package the item well so that damage does not occur in transit, although you do not need to use the original packaging.
We will offer to replace the faulty or damaged item, or refund you in full at your preference.
In regards to missing parts of kits we reserve the right to replace the required parts rather than the entire kit.
If the item arrives damaged or faulty we will of course still offer a refund or replacement on custom orders.
If your item has been dispatched then we will need to investigate with our couriers before continuing with our refund process. This may take up to 14 working days to complete although is usually a far quicker process. We will always offer a full refund or replacement for lost items.
