Wadding & baffles etc
When you launch your rocket, your motor will eject your parachute at the set timing. This creates hot gasses that can damage your recovery system (parachute / streamer). Wadding is traditionally a disposable material that absorbs the heat protecting your parachute. We also offer some alternatives that can be re-used.
1) Traditional disposable wadding such as Estes Recovery wadding or Klima's natural wadding.
2) Re-usable nomex cloth wadding to attach to your recovery cord, wrap your chute in it while loading for protection. Such as Klima's Firecloth or our own Nomex material.
3) Baffles, these use a baffle system to cool the exhaust gases on the way to your parachute.
4) Nomex sleeving to protect your shock cord.
